What was the object that illuminated the sky of Puerto Rico this morning?

At 2:19 am this Wednesday, a bright trail of light illuminated the sky over Puerto Rico. If you managed to see the curious object, know that it was the Falcon 9 rocket, from the company SpaceXwhich was launched from Cape Canaveral, in Floridaon a mission to the Moon.

The Caribbean Astronomy Society (SAC) reported that The mission will carry two descent modules, called “Blue Ghost” and “Resilience”, which will try to land on different areas of the satellite’s surface.

According to the educational entity, the modules include a small “rover” or robotic cart that will explore the surface.

The rocket was visible north of the island while it was traveling at an altitude of 105 miles over the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the SAC indicated.

According to the organization, The robotic ships, built by the Japanese company iSpace, are equipped to carry out 10 experiments. One of these consists of electrolysis, a process that involves the separation of a compound using electricity.

The SAC pointed out that, if it works, this procedure could make it possible to make rocket fuel on the surface of the Moon.

The educational entity explained that, although a mission can reach the Moon in approximately three days, it will take longer due to the trajectory and planning for the eventual attempt to land on the Moon.

The first attempt is scheduled for early March.
