These are the affected provinces

A weak Dana is going to cause meteorologically adverse circumstances in various parts of the country, especially in the northeast peninsular. The Aemet has activated orange warnings for Catalonia and Aragon for rains and storms. The warning will be lifted, as afternoon, at the end of the day.

The provinces of Barcelona and Girona are the main focus of rains that could accumulate up to 40 mm in just one hour, especially in areas of the Pyrenees and Pre -Pyrenees. The situation is complicated with the forecast of severe storms that, in addition to these two provinces, will significantly affect the Bajo Aragón, in Teruel. These stormy phenomena could be accompanied by great size hail and very strong wind gusts, a scenario that advises maximum caution from 2:00 p.m. to the end of the day.

In a second risk step, but affecting a more extensive geographical area, yellow notices are found. Again, Aragon and Catalonia concentrate a good part of these alerts. In Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza, Lleida and Tarragona, rainfall is expected that could leave 20 mm in an hour, as well as storms with possible hail. Although the risk is less than in the areas with orange warning, the AEMET warns of the possibility that these phenomena alter everyday activities, especially outdoors, throughout the afternoon.

Atmospheric instability extends beyond the Northeast, reaching other communities of the north and east of the Peninsula. Navarra, La Rioja, the Valencian Community (in the provinces of Castellón and Valencia) and Soria are also under yellow warning for storms. In these areas, showers can be locally strong and be accompanied by electrical apparatus and wind gusts, configuring an unstable Sunday afternoon in a wide strip of the Spanish territory.
