Given the increasing rise in fuel prices, the situation is quite critical when it comes to driving individually in our country. Every time we see how the same money is enough for fewer liters in the fuel tank. In Spain the current fuel panorama is very high prices and an upward trend.
The cconflict in the Middle East and the difficulties in transporting oil and derivatives through the Strait of Hormuz have reduced the amount of product that normally reaches the market. In addition, Russia is limiting its diesel exports and several refining facilities have suffered problems or attacks. With less supply and continued demand, the price rises.
Why do we have to fill the tank before Monday?
Today, September 21, the average price of gasoline is located in €1,922/literwith a minimum of €1,359/liter at the cheapest gas station and €2,399/liter at the most expensive. Meanwhile, the price of diesel has an average price of €1,927/liter. With a minimum of €1,467/liter and a maximum of €2,299/liter.
In the last quarter, approximately from June 30 to September 21, 2026, 95 gasoline has risen by around €0.48/literwhich is equivalent to about 33%. They are not official figures, but it is a trend that has been seen repeatedly throughout the year and that we can contrast ourselves if we keep receipts from three months ago and compare prices.
If we follow this pattern, and seeing the little positive evolution of the current oil panoramait is best to take precautions to continue amortizing daily travel expenses and not have a high impact on people’s individual finances. And even more so if we take into account the change that is expected for next week.
Changes in state aid for fuel
To this day, the state aid for the price of gasoline is still in force, which stands at 5 cents per liter refueled for gasoline and 20 cents in the case of diesel. However, This aid will be valid until next September 30 so at first October 1st will be even more sky-high.
The Government studies extending or replacing it by new measures, although as of today there is no final decision. Thus, the continuity of the measures is being negotiated with unions, companies and affected sectors, and it has acknowledged that it is studying extending part of the anti-crisis package.
