Lenovo Legion Go S: portability and power
The Legion Go S (8”) is presented as a device that puts emphasis on portability without sacrificing performance. Its 8-inch WUXGA PureSight touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio delivers a crystal-clear visual experience, ideal for playing PC titles on the go. This model is equipped with an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme or Z2 Go processor, accompanied by up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM at 7500 MHz, allowing support for a wide variety of games with stable performance.
With weighing only 730 grams and a 55.5 Wh batteryis a model designed for those looking for a compact and lightweight device, but with the ability to run PC games anytime, anywhere. Lenovo has confirmed that this device will be the first of its kind, with SteamOS as the official operating system.
Legion Go: even greater performance
The second generation Legion Go is a larger and more powerful modeldesigned for those looking for a portable gaming experience without compromising performance capabilities. With an 8.8-inch WUXGA OLED display and a 144Hz refresh rate, this model promises even sharper images and smoother response. In addition, its Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) system promises to optimize the visual experience by avoiding the desynchronization problems that often affect the screens on these devices.
It is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor and features Radeon 780M graphics, offering the power needed to run next-generation PC games. Its storage, which can go up to 2TB via a PCIe Gen4 SSD, allows you to store a significant amount of games and data without worrying about running out of space. Thanks to a 74 Wh battery, the house promises that the device can stay running “during long gaming sessions.”
Although the Legion Go is heavier (890 grams without controllers and up to 1079 grams with them), its specifications justify the larger size and weight. Like the Legion Go S, it is also available with Windows 11 or SteamOS, so you can choose the operating system that best suits your preferences.
Portable gaming PCs
The renewal of Lenovo’s line can be interpreted as an important step in the evolution of portable consoles, especially by introducing SteamOS as a viable alternative to conventional operating systems. This integration promises to improve the experience by optimizing the device’s resources to play without the complications of an operating system like Windows, which is not designed specifically for small screens.
By combining the power of AMD Ryzen processors with the versatility of SteamOS, the company is offering solutions for gamers looking for a quality gaming experience without having to be tied to a traditional PC or console. With the launch of these new devices, the future of portable games is getting closer to being a fully accessible reality and adapted to the needs of the most demanding users.
