Is it possible to spend an iPhone battery to another? The short answer, for now, is not directly, but there are interesting nuances that you must know.
Is there the inverse wireless load on iPhone?
Apple has integrated reverse load hardware in some recent iPhone models, such as the iPhone 12 onwards, but only use it to load. To date (April 2025), Apple does not officially allow an iPhone to load another iPhone wirelessly, but you can load it through cable
So you can’t share battery between iPhones?
Directly between iPhones, yes. Only through cables. There are other practical alternatives if you need to share or extend the battery:
- Use of an external battery (Power Bank): You can connect two iPhones to an external battery that has multiple ports or wireless load to load both devices at the same time.
- Magsafe Battery Pack: This official Apple accessory is magnetically attached to the rear of the iPhone and provides additional load. It does not transfer battery to another iPhone, but it can serve to recharge one in case of emergency.
- Double load cables: Some accessories allow you to load two devices simultaneously using a single USB cable with outputs for two iPhones.
- Load using a MacBook or iPad: If you have an iPhone and an iPad/Macbook compatible, you can use a cable to load your iPhone from the other device using the USB-C port (in recent models). This also does not transfer drums from an iPhone to another, but can help in emergency situations.
