About 15 years at Google before making the jump to Anthropic

In that position, he worked directly with companies and technology managers on issues related to security, digital transformation, and the adoption of cloud solutions.

His experience in this field now fits with one of the great challenges facing companies dedicated to artificial intelligence. Security, privacy and regulatory compliance have become central issues as tools like Claude begin to spread across companies and administrations.

From Google Cloud to the company behind Claude

The next step in his career comes from the hand of Anthropicone of the companies currently leading the international race for the development of generative artificial intelligence.

The company is mainly known for Claudeits family of artificial intelligence models, and is expanding its international presence with new local offices and teams.

Madrid is now part of that strategy. Anthropic has opened an office in the capital and has placed Pitarch at the forefront of its activity in Spain with the aim of strengthening its presence among large companies and organizations.

Among its priorities will be promoting the adoption of the company’s technology and working with Spanish companies that are already incorporating artificial intelligence tools into their processes.

A career also linked to Malaga

Although her new position places her at the forefront of Anthropic’s expansion from Madrid, Cristina Pitarch has maintained a close professional relationship with Malaga.

He had lived in Marbella and the Google Cloud Security team with which he worked was linked to the Google cybersecurity center in Malaga, one of the main technological hubs that the company maintains in Spain.

This journey has allowed him to combine international responsibilities with direct knowledge of the Spanish technological ecosystem, something that will now be especially relevant in his new stage.

Anthropic’s challenge in Spain

The company arrives in Spain at a time when banks, telecommunications companies, infrastructure companies and large technology groups are accelerating the incorporation of artificial intelligence tools.

Among the Spanish companies that already use Claude are names such as Santander, CaixaBank, BBVA, Telefónica, Amadeus, Ferrovial or Indraaccording to the information released on the occasion of the opening of the new office.

Anthropic is now seeking to reinforce that presence with its own team in Madrid and a manager with experience in both business and technological security.

For Pitarch, the move means going from one of the largest technology companies in the world to one of the companies that are trying to dispute the leadership of the new generation of artificial intelligence.
