It’s not just about putting ice in the glass. The world of whisky is an exciting adventure, made up of natural resources and special essences, to which The House of Suntory pays tribute today with its The Tsukuriwake Collection 2024. Understanding that no brand should be alien to respect for tradition and the environment, The Tsukuriwake Collection 2024a limited edition, is inspired by the diversity of its emblematic artisanal whiskies.
Respect for raw materials
The way this anthology is made highlights raw materials such as barley and peat, but even more so water and the environment.
It is the first and most exclusive collection composed of different references of The Yamazaki and The Hakushu, and pays homage to Tsukuriwake, which means “craftsmanship supported by diversity”. Its production method shows its respect for nature by using combined techniques that enhance the best malts and the most outstanding Japanese barrels (Mizunara), to bring out the most natural flavour of the spirits in this series.
With this philosophy, four single malt whiskies emerge that bring together the best of the Japanese house: The Yamazaki Golden Promise, The Yamazaki Islay Peated Malt, The Yamazaki 18yo Mizunara and The Hakushu Peated 18yo Malt. All four have been produced at Yamazaki and Hakushu, two of The House of Suntory’s most renowned distilleries. The former, the oldest in Japan, has won numerous awards and has been located on the outskirts of Kyoto since 1923, the source of the purest waters in the country. The latter, meanwhile, opened in 1973 and is located on the slopes of Mount Kaikoma, where the malt whiskies acquire a particular flavour thanks to the microclimate.
On the outside, environmentalism is no exception, as The Tsukuriwake Collection 2024 is presented in a wooden box packaging, which when opened reveals the four bottles in a triptych format, and has a leather closure and metal buckle.
The case is so unique and special that it has been designed in Limited edition (158 units in Spain). Its price is 3,825 euros and can be purchased in specialized stores and boutiques. The House of Suntory has made history with its artisanally crafted whiskies, making them the most applauded liquids in the world. With The Tsukuriwake Collection 2024, the brand once again reveals the reason for its prestige, which has not lost quality since the creation of the first whiskey distillery in Japan more than 100 years ago.
