It starts a week of changes after a fully summery weekend in much of Spain. The sun and heat will give way to a more unstable atmosphere with the arrival of a Dana through the northwest of the Peninsula, which will gain prominence as of Tuesday. A week of storms is expected, which will be more intense in the north, although they are not also ruled out in areas of the south.
During the afternoon of this Monday, cloudiness of evolution will be developed with storms, in general dry, in large interior zone, although they are likely to be strong in areas of both plateaus and surrounding, oriental béticas and especially in the southern Iberian.
The State Meteorology Agency (Aemet) has warned that these storms could go accompanied by intense showers. Meanwhile, the heat will remain suffocating, with temperatures that could be around 40 degrees in several areas of the country.
Notices in eight communities
Before the forecast of high temperatures and storms, AEMET has activated eight communities alerts. Aragon is in orange warning For intense storms that can be accompanied by large hail and very strong wind gusts in Teruel in addition to rains. Besides, Seven other communities have extreme heat notices and/storms.
Andalusia, both Castillas, Galicia and Madrid They are yellow for both inclement. To these communities are added Extremadura, by heat, and the Valencian Community, by storms. In many areas the storms will be accompanied by hail and/or very strong wind gusts.
Temperatures will be especially high in the Cordoba countryside, the Genil Basin (Granada), in areas of the province of Jaén such as Morena and County, Cazorla, Segura Zone or Valle del Guadalquivir. The maximums will reach up to 40ªC. It will also be hot, up to 39 degrees, in the Tajo Valley (Toledo) and points of Ciudad Real such as the Guadiana Valley and the Sierras de Alcudia and Madrona.
The thermometers will mark 38 degrees in other areas of that province such as in La Mancha and the North and Width Montes and also in La Mancha Albacete and Toledo. These levels will also be reached in large areas of Extremadura. In Madrid there will be up to 37 degrees in the southern zone, Vegas and west of the community.
These will be the most unstable days
A Dana will approach from the Atlantic on Tuesdaywhich will cause an increase in instability. That day, storms are expected As of noon in large areas of the interior of the Peninsula. As for temperatures, they will rise in the Cantabrian, the northeast peninsular and the Balearic Islands, while they will go down inside the Peninsula, especially in the southern half. Even so, heat will persist. For example, the 30ºC is expected in Lugo; in Palma de Mallorca, 31ºC; in Madrid and Cáceres, 36ºC; and in Zaragoza and Jaén, the thermometers will mark the 38ºC.
Wednesday will be an unstable day again. Chubascos are expected in large areas of the peninsular interior, which will be locally strong and with hail. Also, intense wind gusts will also be recorded. These storms will occur with greater probability in the central north zone. Temperatures will fall in almost the entire peninsula except in the north end and in the Mediterranean area. Inside Mallorca and Bilbao, 35ºC will be around.
When the heat comes back
As of Thursday, a general recovery of temperatures will begin, although that day they will go down in the north third.
