The Municipality of Guaynabo announced this Friday a special Christmas tree recycling program, with the purpose of converting them into compost that will be used in the La Marquesa Forestal park and in the city gardens.
The initiative, organized by the town’s Decoration and Recycling brigades, will take place on four specific dates and places, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm:
“Our city has been characterized by its enthusiastic support for recycling. We have developed a culture of caring for the planet and this initiative is an effective way to prevent trees from being burned, which could cause accidents. Recycling them is a safe way to reuse them to benefit our community,” said Mayor Edward O’Neill Rosa in a press release.
