WhatsApp prevents members of a chat from exporting or downloading their content

Meta has updated the privacy in WhatsApp to prevent the content that is sent through the chats is shared outside them, especially in the groups where not all its members can be known. The technological firm has implemented on Wednesday what it calls ‘advanced chat privacy’, an optional privacy adjustment designed for chats between two people and group.

Its purpose is to prevent the content that is shared in the conversation out of the application and. To do this, when activated, it prevents the export of chats, the discharge of content automatically on the phone and the use of messages in artificial intelligence functions. “We think that this function is ideal for groups where not everyone knows each other well, but conversations are delicate, such as talking about health problems in a support group or organizing your community for something important to you,” the company explained in a statement.

This privacy function complements others, such as end -to -end encryption, temporary messages and function to restrict chats. As they clarify from WhatsApp, it is the first version and plan to add new protections over time.
