WhatsApp Eraser: what it is and how to use it

WhatsAppwhich will soon be 15 years old since its launch, receives regular improvements and among them those that are greatly appreciated They help put some order in the long chat lists that accumulate. We recently talked about the Lists which are currently in the testing phase and allow you to establish filters to organize chats by groups. Another novelty aimed at improving the usability of the chats tab is the drafts that Meta is deploying in mobile apps.

This novelty may be familiar to users of WhatsApp Websince it has been available in the browser version since last year. Now, after having been tested for a few months in beta for iOS and Android, drafts reach all users.

The draft feature identifies messages that have been written but not sent with a new label, ‘Draft’, in green and preceding the text of the message. In this way, a user can quickly identify in which chat they have an unfinished or pending message. and reduce the time to locate it.

WhatsApp already saved unsent texts, but It did not show any indication of the type of message it was and you had to open it if you did not remember. The feature supports text messages and voice memos and can be used in both individual and group chats.

Erasers are also useful when writing very long messagesat several different times, and helps prevent important unsent messages from go unnoticed and forgotten.

What WhatsApp has not implemented yet is Synchronizing drafts between several open instances of the same WhatsApp account. That is, if you start a message on your mobile and leave it for later, you will not be able to finish it from the web or from another mobile, but instead you will have to do it from where you started.

How to use WhatsApp drafts

Drafts is a feature coming activated by defaultso the only thing you need is to update your version of the app, either from Google Play or the App Store.

With the feature available, you will see that if you start a message and return to the chat list, will be indicated with the label ‘Draft’ before the text. It will stay that way until you delete it or end the message and send it.
