Vox ‘passes’ from the harassment complaint of a councilor in the Murcia City Council to a top position

Vox’s bleeding in the Region of Murcia, a territory that had become its main bastion of votes in Spain, seems to have no end. Yesterday, he announced his resignation from the partyor María Guerrerocouncilor in the capital’s City Council, who decides to tear up his membership card and leaves for the non-affiliated group after denouncing the group’s spokesperson for harassment: Luis Gestosowho also has a seat on the party’s National Executive Committee and is a personal friend of Santiago Abascal.

Officially, the leadership of Bambú – the national headquarters – has not commented on the umpteenth internal controversy. Yes, the provisional leadership has done so in the Murcian community, which closes ranks with Gestoso, whose “integrity” stands out, and charges against his alleged victim: “She has chosen to become a turncoat and thus kidnap the councilor’s record for which she was elected.”

The party leadership in Murcia frames the case in “particular interests, personal blackmail and individual whims”, and in an external attempt to “hide the growth” of the party and thus “confuse public opinion.” Meanwhile, party leaders contacted by LA RAZÓN deny that there was an internal complaint of harassment, which the Murcia councilor reported in her farewell letter.

«For months, the situation in the municipal group was unsustainable, so I duly informed the party of the treatment received by the spokesperson, lacking the slightest education and respect for myself”Guerrero expressed in his letter, published in X.

He also pointed out other reasons that led him to take a step back. Case of nepotism that, he denounced, is practiced by some leaders: «We have always felt proud of being different from the rest of the parties, of prioritizing meritocracy; However, now family members and partners are hired, against the ideology of the party itself. In her particular case, she regretted the disregard when “inappropriate conduct is being committed against a colleague.”

It didn’t take long for the purged leader in the region to come to the defense of the Murcian councillor: José Ángel Antelowho assures this newspaper that there has been continued harassment by spokesperson Gestoso: “He treated her badly, harassed her, yelled at her, humiliated her.”

As LA RAZÓN has been able to verify, the councilor conveyed at least one internal complaint of harassment in an email sent to the general secretary. He did it in October 2025.

He submitted six reports

Sources around him assure that submitted a total of six reports in which he described an unsustainable personal situation. The alleged harassment, they maintain, caused her emotional and physical harm, since she had an anxiety attack for which she was hospitalized, until she ended up on medical leave for a month and a half, which ended exactly yesterday, when she decided to make her resignation public.

However, other party officials offer a very different version. They frame the resignation in the “bad vibes” between Gestoso and the councilor, but they deny that he harassed her. “If what they say had really happened, I would have reported it.” A step that he did take, but through organic channels, not in the courts. On the other hand, they confirm that different meetings of “members of the national leadership” were held with those affected. Although they do not explain why and what the resolution of the meetings was.

In the opinion of the leaders related to Abascal with whom this newspaper has contacted, the Murcia councilor’s chapter “has more to do” with Antelo. «I mean, it seems like all his friends are jumping. And each one uses what interests him. A priori, the Vox leadership has no intention of investigating, much less removing Gestoso, who will continue as spokesperson in the municipal group and as a member of the Executive Committee.

In the midst of a local fire, this Tuesday the head of Vox Organization traveled to the Region of Murcia, Maria Ruizto meet with Antelo’s replacement as regional president: José Manuel Pancorbo. There are more and more casualties and the criticism from critics only intensifies. Vox tries to plug the cracks with little success. With the departure of the councilor, a new front is open: harassment. For now, the word of one against another.
