Spring has begun with a sign that winter he hasn’t left yet altogether.
This Friday’s day will be dominated by a marked thermal contrast and due to episodes of intense wind in several regions of the country, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency.
While large areas of the interior of the peninsula will dawn with clear skies, the northeast is preparing to withstand the effects of the north wind and the wind, which will leave very strong gusts, especially in the Ampurdán, the Pyrenees, the Ebro valley and the north of the Balearic Islands.
Atmospheric stability will be the dominant trend in most of the territory, with skies slightly cloudy or clear from the first hours. However, there will be no shortage of cloudy intervals in the area of the Strait, the Alboran Sea, the Cantabrian strip, the upper Ebro, the north of the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.
Precipitation will be restricted to a few areas: Weak rains are expected in the eastern Cantabrian Sea, which could occasionally extend to nearby areas, as well as in the Strait, Alboran and the Balearic Islands. In the Canary Islands, the skies will remain cloudy with the possibility of some weak and scattered precipitation.
Wind gusts and thermal drop in the south
The wind will become the protagonist most striking of the day. The Tramontana will blow strongly in the Empordà and the north of the Balearic Islands, with gusts that will reach very strong intensity.
They will also register very strong gusts of wind from the north in the Pyrenees and from the Cerro in the middle and lower valley of the Ebro. In the rest of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, the winds will be weak or moderate from the north and east, with strong easterly intervals in the Strait and Alborán, as well as from the northeast on the Galician coasts. In Canary Islandsthe moderate northerly wind will leave strong intervals in the most exposed areas.
The thermometer will draw a map of contrasts. The temperatures maxims will experience a rise in the northern half of the peninsula, while in Andalusia will see declineslocally notable in the Alborán area.
The minimalfor their part, will decrease slightly or moderately in the Canary Islands, in the northeast and in the southern half of the Peninsula, with specific increases only in the area around the Strait. The weak frosts will once again turn the mountains of the northern half, the areas of the Northern plateau and the east of the Southern plateau, white, while in the Pyrenees the frosts will reach moderate intensity.
Morning fog banks will appear in a dispersed way in the mountains of the north and south of the peninsula, adding a precautionary component for the first trips of the day.
