The tenants’ union evicts Sánchez de la Moncloa: “When responsibility comes to your ministry, is it enough to comply with the procedure?”

He Union of Tenants of Madrid has directed its criticism at the PSOE with two publications that question the coherence of its representatives in housing matters. The group points to Óscar López and Montse Mínguez and he reproaches them for the distance that, in his opinion, exists between their statements against evictions and the actions of their ministry or those around them.

The message against the Minister of Digital Transformation and Public Service is based on information from Article14 about the procedure to evict a resident of Maricarmen. The union contrasts that case with the position that López had expressed regarding the eviction of the woman and poses a question directed to his department. “When responsibility comes to your ministry, is it enough to follow the procedure?”.

The criticism appears in a publication published this October 15 from the official account of the Madrid group. In another message from that same morning, the organization questions the socialist spokesperson about the rental homes that, according to what she points out, her partner’s company maintains.

The reproach to Óscar López for the case of a resident of Maricarmen

“Hypocrisy sometimes has no limits,” begins the union’s text about López. Next, he maintains that the minister denounced the eviction of Maricarmen while his department endorsed the procedure to evict a neighbor across the street. The organization attributes this information to Article14.

In the image that accompanies the message, the group toughens its criticism. “To point out Ayuso, eviction is intolerable,” he says before asking about the criteria that is applied when the responsibility falls to the ministry.

The union thus questions the political response to the procedure. The publication refers to the steps to evict the tenant, without proving that the eviction has been carried out. His reproach focuses on the fact that compliance with the procedure should not be enough as an explanation for those who publicly denounce other cases.

The company homes of Montse Mínguez’s couple

The other publication has as its protagonist Montse Minguez. The union contrasts its defense of housing as a right with the activity of its partner’s company, to which it attributes at least 30 homes for rent.

The message places these properties in the activity of your partner’s company. He does not claim that they are personal properties of the socialist spokesperson. Based on this information, the group accuses the PSOE of promising measures against rentism while people linked to its representatives obtain income from the real estate business.

“To ask us to vote, housing is a right. To defend that business, it is enough that it is legal,” the organization maintains in the image that accompanies the publication. It is the same argument that he uses against López, when questioning whether the legality of an action alone resolves criticism about its political coherence.

A call to mobilize on November 11

Both publications end with a call for November 11. In the message about Óscar López, the union writes “we stop everything.” In the one dedicated to Mínguez, he expressly calls for the “General Strike.”

The group thus accompanies its reproaches with a call for mobilization. In these two messages, the recipient of his criticism is the PSOEwhich demands that its public defense of the right to housing also have consequences when the cases affect those responsible.
