It is clear that the conflict between Iran and Israel has escalated rapidly, but since the former’s attacks in response to Israel’s bombings in Lebanon, Iran has apparently taken a breather. And this would have a reason: a new technology that would allow it to increase the number of missiles launched and their effectiveness.
According to the Tasnim news agency, whose objective, according to its website, is “defend the Islamic Revolution against the media’s negative propaganda campaign and provide our readers with the reality on the ground about Iran and Islam,” Iran’s elite military force, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), has been developing secret technology to intensify the impact of its missile attacks against the Israeli regime.
The report published by Tasnim notes that the IRGC would have delayed its long-awaited response to Israel’s activities in the region for several weeks to finish work on new technologies and equipment necessary to intensify attacks against the regime.
Tasnim cited informed sources as saying that New technologies and equipment would give the IRGC the advantage in any confrontation with Israeladding that it had already partially used the technologies in a missile strike operation late on Tuesday against targets in the Israeli capital of Tel Aviv and other areas of occupied Palestine.
The report said that new technologies were the main reason behind the success of the IRGC operation in which more than 90% of the missiles reached their targets. The sources said, however, that the IRGC has not yet used the technologies on a large scale, adding that such a scenario would take the Israeli enemy by surprise.
Apparently, the IRGC has collected confidential information in recent weeks and has updated its missile systems and other equipment so that they could be more effective in any attack against Israel.
Iranian authorities have dismissed media reports and statements issued by Israel that suggest that the regime’s air defenses had intercepted a large portion of the missiles fired by the IRGC.
The speculations happen because it is not so much a new technology, but rather a launch of missiles from different launchers, in different locations, with the goal of “saturating” Iron Dome (the Israeli system that intercepts the missiles) making its mission difficult.
