The Tour d’E Europe has made a stop at the La Rábida Energy Park of Moeve, in Palos de la Frontera (Huelva), where the company produces biofuels. It is a Back to Europe with biofuel -propelled truckswhich promotes decarbonization of transport through the use of renewable fuels.
The route has started after one of the trucks toured the facilities where the company – known as CEPSA – produces biofuels, also through its new 2G biofuel plant under construction. Thence, Vehicles will travel 2,700 kilometers in Spain using HVO100 renewable diesel. The European tour will culminate in Brussels, in June.
The project is supported by companies in the energy and car sector such as BMW, Hyundai, Iveco, Moeve and Repsol, among others. Your goal is demonstrate the viability of HVO100 as an alternative To reduce heavy transport emissions, in line with the objective of the European Union to cut them 55% by 2030 until climate neutrality in 2050.
“The biofuel is an immediate solution for our clients, in these sectors that are difficult to electrify,” says Cedric Vigneau, director of Fleets & Commercial Road Transport of Moeve, which HVO100 renewable diesel markets in 16 stations and distributes it directly to professional customers.
In addition, the 2G biofuel plant that Moeve builds in Huelvain alliance with Apical, it will have the capacity to produce 500,000 tons per year and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). With this installation, the company will reach a production of more than 1.5 million tons per year of biofuels.
