The heat wave still does not take a break while Spain burns. The State Meteorology Agency (AEMET) forecasts for this Friday, August 15, “notable” and even “extraordinary” temperatures in the Cantabrian, with southern wind, although the mercury will fall again in the same area this Saturday. With this, it is expected that tomorrow the 38 or 39 degrees will be reached in a generalized way in the Cantabrian, and even exceed 40 degrees Celsius at some points.
On the contrary, descents are expected in western Galicia locally notable in Atlantic Coast; And in the rest no greater changes are expected. The 35 degrees will be exceeded in most of the Peninsula, as well as in areas of Balearic Islands and Canary Islands, reaching 40 in large areas of the southern half of the Atlantic, of the Eastern Cantabrian and being able to do so in the depressions of the Northeast.
You can see a light decrease in the minimum temperatures in the southern half and archipelagos, and a light ascent in the rest more intense locally in Castilla y León, Alto Ebro and South of Galicia. They will not drop from 20 in the southern peninsular half, except mountains, north plateau and northeast depressions, being probable to exceed 25 in the Mediterranean and depressions of the southern Atlantic slope.
In the rest of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, except mountain areas, 36-38 degrees will be reached, and 39-40 will be exceeded in the valleys of the great rivers, depressions of the northeast and prelitors of Valencia.
The worst will come this Saturday and this Sunday, however. Experts are already predicting that this August could be the hottest since you have records. And this weekend will be especially agonized for those who can not with the high temperatures: 40 degrees will be exceeded in large areas of the southern peninsular half and in the depressions of the Ebro and the Duero, without ruling out that the 44 degrees Celsius in the valleys of the Guadiana, Guadalquivir and Safe.
