This Tuesday they have fulfilled 1,000 days of the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine and, for this reason, they have become known two balances of the losses that the military conflict is causing Russia. On the one hand, that of Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and, on the other, that of the british intelligence. And although in some aspects they coincide, in others they offer quite a disparity.

In an intelligence update published by the UK Ministry of Defense, Adrian Birdhead of Defense Intelligence, affirms that they have registered more than 700,000 Russian casualtieswith an average of 1,531 daily casualties in the first 17 days of November 2024. These estimates coincide with those of the Government of Volodymyr Zelenskywhich puts Russian casualties at 724,050 and also indicates the average of 1,500 daily.

Where differences arise is when assessing the destruction of Russia’s arsenal, with a much more triumphalist vision on the part of Ukraine.

According to Bird, Russian losses include 3,558 tanks, 147 helicopters, 132 airplanes and more 8,500 armored vehicles, in addition to 26 vessels damaged or destroyed in the Black Sea.

According to Ukraine, destroyed, damaged or captured Russian tanks rise to 9,382; helicopters, 329; the planes, 369; armored vehicles, 19,092; the ships, to 28.

Other types of weapons and vehicles that Ukraine mentions do not appear in the UK communication and therefore cannot be compared, although it indicates that more information will be provided soon.
