Stable weather will predominate in most of the national territory during the last weekend of Augustcoinciding with the period of greatest mobility of the Operation Return.
However, the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) warns of a progressive rise in temperatures in the western half and the south, in addition to warning of very high or extreme risk of fire and possible dry storms in the southeast.
According to AEMET spokesperson, José Luis Camacho, the meteorological situation will tend towards greater stability as the weekend progresses.
This Friday there will still be occasional showers accompanied by storms in Galicia, Asturias and Leónwhile in the southeast of the peninsula, especially in Almería and Murcia, there may be occasional storms, generally dryand locally heavy showers. In Menorca the orange notice by rissagas during the night and early morning.
Starting on Saturday, rainfall will be more restricted and will be limited to light rains in Galicia, Asturias and the island of La Palma, while the rest of the country will enjoy more stable weather.
The heat gains ground again
Temperatures will also experience significant changes. After the strong contrasts registered during the day on Thursday, with 39.4 ºC in Garrucha (Almería) facing minimums of 0.1 ºC in Puerto del Pico (Ávila), the thermometers will begin a recovery.
This Friday the maximums will rise in the western half of the Peninsula, with locally notable rises in the extreme northwest, although they will decrease in the eastern third of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands.
During the weekend, temperatures will rise across the board in the center and south of the peninsula. Thermometers will reach and exceed 35 ºC in points of the Mediterranean pre-coastal and the south of the Balearic Islands.
Likewise, there will be tropical nightswith minimum temperatures above 20 ºC in points of the Mediterranean coast and the Canary Islands.
The warm trend that will continue during the first days of September. According to the AEMET, Temperatures will be high for the time of year in much of Spain during the next weekto.
On Saturday and Sunday, stability will predominate in most of the country, although light rainfall may still be recorded in some areas. Sunday, key day of the Operation Returnthe weather will remain stable, with minor rains only in the Cantabrian area and in La Palma.
Very high or extreme risk of fire
This recovery in temperatures, together with the lack of precipitation, keeps the forest fire risk. The AEMET places in very high or extreme level the danger in the northeast quadrant of the peninsula, the Valencian Community, southern Andalusia and the Balearic archipelago.
