The Mobile World Congress (MWC) returns to Barcelona with the arrival of March, consolidated as one of the largest technological events in the world. From March 2 to 5, Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue will bring together the giants of the sector under the motto “Prepared for the future.” Telefónica will participate with a stand of more than 950 square meters in which it will show its commitment to promoting digitalization through three large demonstration areas. In them it will showcase cutting-edge technologies, the capabilities of its 5G network and practical applications of quantum computing and artificial intelligence, among other innovations.
The first demo is the “Mission-Critical Dome”, an experience that Telefónica will carry out in various parts of Barcelona to show the importance of dual-source technology in natural disaster management. Attendees at MWC 2026 will be able to experience an emergency simulation that shows how to restore connectivity in affected areas and maintain constant communication between the command center and rescue teams. Telefónica explains that the objective is to demonstrate that the technologies enabled by 5G – such as satellite connectivity, Fog Computing, Network Slicing, AI, drones and robots – and that they are framed in a ‘5G Tactical Bubble’ solution, are “completely differential” for managing a crisis scenario, both at a strategic, operational and tactical level.
The second demo (“Titan Connect”) will show visitors how technological solutions can maintain a company’s connectivity even in the event of unforeseen events while helping to deploy new digital services. To do this, Telefónica will recreate a medical emergency situation so that those responsible for emergencies activate protocols that transfer the patient to the hospital as soon as possible without interrupting connectivity. “This is possible because Telefónica makes available to companies a unique set of its own technologies and cutting-edge capabilities, such as 5G SA, fiber, satellite connection, cloud, cybersecurity, observability, automation, and secure management, which avoid an interruption in communications and reinforce connectivity,” they point out.
Likewise, the teleco will show its commitment to put quantum technologies at the service of companies in a practical way through their “Quantum Telco” demo. Specifically, it will teach real cases of applied quantum computing —such as logistics optimization or medical research—, in addition to its secure communications solutions against future quantum attacks and tools that help companies adapt their technological infrastructure to new security standards. Together, Telefónica will showcase how these technologies can improve the competitiveness and protection of companies.
“For the first time, the demos will have a NaviLens QR code specially designed to improve the experience of people with visual disabilities. Thanks to a program developed by Telefónica, the audio guide will be available in Spanish or English and will offer a detailed description of each solution,” explains the telecommunications company.
Ágora, 360º ring that unites innovation and knowledge
The center of the stand will be marked by a 360º LED ring, 15 meters in diameter, suspended over the Telefónica Agora. The Agora will be a living space where knowledge and innovation are connected through presentations and immersive experiences. In addition, the stand will incorporate sensory proposals such as “The Beat”, which turns the space into a visual brand manifesto, and “The Code”, a system that transforms the public’s emotions into digital art. Every day, the stand will come to life with shows full of rhythm and color. In this moving Agora you can follow live – with capacity for 80 people and also online – 24 sessions given by more than 60 managers and experts, a meeting point to debate and discover the solutions and innovations that Telefónica puts at the service of companies and society.
