1/12 | Superaqueduct: this is how the megapipeline was built 25 years ago at a cost of $585 million. The idea for the project arose from engineer Antonio Santiago Vázquez, in the 1980s, under the administration of Carlos Romero Barceló. Then, his idea did not prosper, but it was revived, a decade later, by Pedro Rosselló. In the photo, Santiago Vázquez, considered “the father of the Superaqueduct,” stamps his signature on the pipe, when construction was announced in 1996. – TITO GUZMAN
