Within the OnePlus family, the members of the Nord species have always distinguished themselves by their excellent quality/price ratio. And the latest of them, The Nord 4 is no exception.: a careful design, excellent battery, very enjoyable screen, powerful processor… Let’s go step by step.
Taking inspiration from the Google Pixel, the Nord 4 has split its back into two different tones/materials: the top is glossy (and a magnet for fingerprints), while the bottom has a matte, rougher finish. Another detail that adds quality to the view is the use of aluminum throughout the casing: it is the only 5G smartphone on the market made from a single piece of metal, there is no plastic or glass. This, which could be a minor detail, involves a lot of research time: it is more complex to integrate the antennas with this material and maintain performance. But OnePlus has achieved this with the addition of reducing the size of the antennas by 50% without losing reception. In short: when the Nord 3 went on sale, OnePlus had probably already been working on this for some time.
In the screen section, it takes a 6.74-inch AMOLED: good vision, resistance and luminosity. The straight edges help the whole to exceed (barely) 90% of the total body. Below it is an efficient and fast fingerprint reader, a trademark of the house and already tested with other models. The good news is that the sound is accompanied by two speakers.
The brain is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3: No, it is not high-end, but it is very effective in its performance and unless you force it with high-demand video games it behaves adequately. Of course, probably due to the thermal capacity of the materials used in the body, heat is transmitted more easily in high-demand scenarios. This is probably more a question of the microchip than the phone itself. It adds 16 GB of RAM and a storage that reaches 512 GB. Very good.
Its battery is also very good news: 5,500 mAh with fast charging up to 100 W which allows you to go from 0 to 100 in less than half an hour… Of course, the charger is not included.
