Disregard, apathy, abandonment, lack of respect, deceit… and a host of disagreements have led the majority of police unions to stand up to the Government and its Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and announce that they will not attend the next Police Council. It should be noted that, until now, only three unions (CEP, EYA and ASP) refused to attend these meetings in the face of the refusal of the General Directorate of the Police to include in the agenda the main demands of the agents, such as the inclusion within the high-risk professions or equal pay.
At this point and after a new protest in the streets, three other unions (JUPOL, SUP and UFP) They have decided to join this pressure measure and announce that “Collective bargaining is broken by the Government’s inactivity”. The reason? The umpteenth refusal by the ministry headed by Grande-Marlaska to talk about the agents’ priorities: “The Interior Ministry knows our demands. Either they sit down to negotiate the fair salary equalization and the dignified retirement that we national police officers deserve or they will find us facing them. exercising all the pressure measures within our reach until we get it.”
