In 2030, 85% of the most in-demand jobs will be for profiles that do not yet exist. This represents a gap between the needs of the labor market in terms of the professionals that comprise it and the training that they can receive, which seems to go hand in hand with the saga of the real world.
A gap that is already more than visible in our country. Currently, more than 120,000 technological profile positions cannot be filled due to lack of adequate qualificationswith the consequent effects on the growth of our economy, our innovative potential and our competitiveness compared to other countries.
To try to cover this demand and connect technological professional profiles, ‘Reskilling for Employment (R4E)’, an initiative of the European Round Table for Industry (ERT), has just launched the ‘New Career Network’ (NCN) platformin Spain and Portugal. It does so with the help of Fundación Telefónica, Sonae, Iberdrola, SAP and CEOE and represents a unique value proposition that is already revolutionizing the world of work today and the one to come.
José María Álvarez-Pallete, president of the Employment, Skills and Impact Committee of the ERT and president of Telefónica, and of Fundación Telefónicahighlighted that one of the biggest challenges we face as a society is that talent, employability and the digital transition in which we are immersed go in step.
A trust framework for companies
In this objective, requalification is an imperative and, in that, ‘New Career Network’ is very useful, since this platform allows design, based on the experience and training of the job seeker, a direct training route that directs them towards the specific needs of the positions to be filled at a given moment, thanks to Artificial Intelligence. This route also connects with comprehensive requalification programs from verified providers that will also be available within the platform itself.
Furthermore, and thanks to the design and monitoring of this oriented development plan, it is also possible reduce the cost and time of hiring.
“We are very proud to promote this ambitious initiative from Spain, together with Portugal, under the umbrella of the European Round Table for Industry (ERT). to which we hope to add other companies and actors in employability,” celebrated Álvarez-Pallete.
The platform is located in pilot phase since last September both in Spain and Portugal and seeks to deploy a framework of trust for companies and business associations who may be interested in looking for people with skills trained and verified by some of the best training entities nationwide.
In this way, it would definitively reduce the imbalance that exists in Europe and the world between the supply of digital jobs and the demand for qualified profiles to cover them.
