Luz Martínez Seijo with 94,946 euros per year salary and five declared houses, about housing: “We consider it as a basic necessity”

Luz Martínez SeijoPSOE deputy for Palencia, defends the consideration of housing as an essential good. “We consider it as a basic necessity”he states. His declaration of assets, registered in Congress on June 17, 2026includes five homes between Guardo and Valladolid, as well as garages, vehicles and different financial products.

His parliamentary assignments are added to this assets. The calculation published by Transparent by 2026 it amounts to 94,946.32 euros per year between remuneration and compensation for expenses. The amount results from annualizing the monthly amounts corresponding to your position and is not equivalent to a net payroll nor does it credit what you have actually earned throughout the year.

Five homes between Guardo and Valladolid

The statement submitted to the Congressional Register of Interests lists a home in Guardo, Palenciaacquired by sale in 1996. The other four are located in Valladolid and came to their assets through purchases and inheritances.

In Valladolid there is a home inherited in 2014, another with a garage acquired by purchase and sale in 2021, a third received by inheritance that same year and a fourth purchased in 2022. The document expressly identifies as “non-community” the inherited home in 2021.

Martínez Seijo declares that she is married in community property. However, the form does not uniformly detail the private or shared nature of each property. They all appear in full ownership, an expression that describes the right over the property and that does not allow us to conclude, by itself, that the five homes are exclusively theirs.

The relationship also includes three garages in Valladolidcounting the one that appears next to one of the homes. The other two are acquired by inheritance in 2014 and by sale in 2023, the latter noted in the observations section.

More than 827,000 euros in accounts, investments and pension plans

The sum of the financial amounts recorded in the June declaration reaches 827,557.03 euros. Of that amount, 29,049 euros correspond to the joint balance of accounts at BBVA and Santander.

The investments section includes a managed portfolio of 365,165 eurosa Quality Moderate Investment fund valued at 186,552 eurosidentified as non-community, and 169,951 euros at BBVA Ahorro Empresas. Add another 63.03 euros in Santander securities.

It also declares two BBVA pension plans, with amounts of 50,142 and 26,635 euros. These products are part of the financial sum, but should not be confused with cash available in a checking account. The total also does not include the value of homes, garages or vehicles.

In this last section there is a Skoda Spaceback, a Kia Sportage and a Renault Arkana. The section for loans and other property obligations is empty.

What does the 94,946 euros per year include?

Transparentia’s remuneration sheet, calculated with Congressional allocations for 2026, breaks down a basic allowance of 3,366.99 euros per month and a complement of 1,252.04 euros. Both concepts add up to 4,619.03 euros and are subject to withholding and taxation.

To them are added 2,162.85 euros monthly compensation for having been elected in a constituency other than Madrid. Congress explains that this amount is intended to cover expenses derived from parliamentary activity and is exempt from taxation.

The monthly sum amounts to 6,781.88 euros. Transparentia annualizes it in 14 monthly installments up to 94,946.32 euros. Therefore, this figure includes salary, supplement and compensation, concepts that must be distinguished when describing their remuneration.

What has changed compared to your 2023 declaration

The June 2026 update contains one less home than the August 2023 declaration. The one acquired in Valladolid in 2003 no longer appears, nor does the 10% stake in a rural property in Burgos that appeared in the previous document. The statements do not explain the reason for these differences.

The 2026 form maintains a notation of 1,438.02 euros for housing rentalidentical to that of 2023. However, the income section also retains an express reference to 2022 in the income from teaching seniority, which is why it does not allow that amount to be attributed without clarification to the rents of 2025. It also does not identify which homes are rented or how much is charged for each one.
