The US president, Donald Trump, announced yesterday a minimum global tariffs of 10 % and additional by countries. In the case of the European Union, these tariffs will rise to 20%.
In a ceremony in the Rosaleda of the White House in which he announced his “day of liberation” for the United States, the president said that these are “friendly tariffs”, while presenting a long list of countries with their respective new levies with “discount” with respect to the barriers they impose on US exports.
“These tariffs are not totally reciprocal, they are friendly reciprocal. My answer is very simple, if they complain and want a zero tariff, then manufacture here in the United States, because there is no tariff, “Trump said.
