It is designed as a tiny typewriterwith only two keys, and has a retro feel that makes it cute. To reinforce that key impression, both have a travel of 6mm and they produce a noise similar to that of a mechanical keyboard when pressed hard. It was launched last May and is available in two colors, green and orange.
At the factory, the buttons are printed with a pixelated heart and one steaming cup of coffeebut can be exchanged for two others, included with the device, marked with a x and one EITHER.
The default function of the buttons is mode Readingwhich allows you to turn pages forward and back, or control the volume when you are not using a reading application. However, Tappy, which also works with devices other than e-readers, can be switched to two more modes. Multimedia modifies the function of the buttons to skip tracks in music, video, podcast or audiobook applications, while the mode Navigation Allows you to scroll up and down web pages or social media feeds while holding down either button.
Tappy works best with Boox e-readers and tablets, but it can also be used with those from other manufacturers, mobile phones Android and iPhonein addition to the iPad. The downside is that the capacities are not always the same. The page turn control is compatible with the Kobo and Kindle apps for Android, but not their versions for iOS or iPadOS.
