Gmail now allows you to talk to your inbox to find information in your emails

Google is incorporating Gmail a new way to find information without typing searches or having to review long chains of messages. The function, which was presented at the last developer conference I/O celebrated in May, it is called GmailLive and allows you to maintain a voice conversation with the inbox to directly ask for data that appears in the emails.

The system uses Gemini voice models to interpret naturally expressed questions and locate corresponding information among received messages. Google gives examples of asking which is the boarding gate for an upcoming flight or what activities are going on that week at a child’s school. Gmail Live scans your inbox, provides a summarized voice response, and displays the emails from which it extracted information.

The conversation also does not end after getting a first response from the Google assistant. The user can go deeper asking follow-up questions and even interrupting Gmail Live while you’re talking to change the subject. The objective is to find a specific piece of information It’s more like asking someone else than using the traditional Gmail search engine..

Docs and Keep also gain a voice mode

Google is also bringing this conversational modality to Docs and Keep through Docs Live and Keep Live. The first allows speaking to transform ideas into structured documents and can use information from Gmail, Drive, Chat and the web if you receive permission. Keep Live interprets what the user dictates and can automatically convert it into notes or organized lists.

Spanish users will also be able to access Gmail Live because Google has started a global deployment of the function. However, there are several limitations during this first phase. Gmail Live works initially only in englishis intended for mobile devices and requires a subscription Google AI Plus, Pro or Ultra. Availability is progressively expanding this week, so it may not appear immediately on all supported accounts.

Docs Live is intended for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscriberswhile new conversational features are also coming soon to enterprise customers Google Workspace.
