Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Elon Musk on Thursday requested “eliminating entire agencies” of the Federal Government of the United States as part of his campaign at the request of President Donald Trump to radically cut out the expense and restructure his priorities.
Musk offered a varied speech by videoconference at the world’s governance summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, about what he described as the priorities of the Trump government, interspersed with multiple references to a “thermonuclear war” and the possible dangers of intelligence artificial.
“We really have here the government of bureaucracy instead of the people’s government, democracy,” said Musk, who wore a black shirt with the message: “technical support.” He also joked saying that it was the “Technical Support of the White House,” a wink to his profile on the social platform X, which is his property.
“I think we need to eliminate entire agencies instead of leaving many of them behind,” Musk said. “If we do not eliminate the roots of the weeds, then it is easy for the weed to grow again.”
Although Musk has intervened in previous editions of the summit, his appearance on Thursday came after consolidating his control over large areas of the government with Trump’s blessing, since he assumed the leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge, for its acronym in English). This has included leadership officials, obtaining access to sensitive databases and inviting a constitutional shock on the limits of the presidential authority.
Musk’s new role gave more weight to his comments beyond being the richest person in the world thanks to his investments in Spacex and in the Tesla electric car manufacturer.
His statements also raised a more isolationist vision of American power in the Middle East, where the US has fought wars in Afghanistan and Iraq after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
“Much of the attention has been in USAID, for example,” Musk said, referring to the dismantling of the United States Agency for International Development by Trump. “For example, the National Foundation for Democracy. But I say, ‘Okay, how much democracy have they achieved lately?’ ”He said in reference to an official organization.
He added that under Trump’s mandate, the US is “less interested in interfering with the affairs of other countries.”
“There are times that the United States has been a bit insistent in international affairs, which can be familiar with some members of the audience,” Musk told the public in the United Arab Emirates, a nation composed of seven emirates with autocratic governments.
“Basically, the United States should deal with your own issues, instead of pressing for a regime change everywhere,” he said.
He also mentioned the efforts of the Trump government in eliminating the projects of diversity, equity and inclusion (known by its acronym in English), and at one point it related to artificial intelligence.
“If hypothetically, AI is designed for Dei, you know, diversity at all costs, you could decide that there are too many men in power and execute them,” Musk said.
On the AI, Musk said he believed that the new chatbot of X, Grok 3, would be ready in approximately two weeks, and at one point he said that “she is a little fear.”
He also criticized Sam Altman’s management in Openai, for which Musk has just leads an acquisition offer of 97.4 billion dollars, describing it as similar to a non -profit organization aimed at saving the Amazon jungle that becomes a “company wood that cuts the trees. “
Musk also announced plans for a “Dubai Loop” project in line with his work in The Boring Company, which is excavating tunnels in Las Vegas to lighten traffic. However, neither he nor the Emirati government official who spoke with him offered immediate details of the plan.
“It will be like a worm hole,” Musk promised. “You simply get into a worm hole from one part of the city – boom – and leaves in another part of the city.”
