Coca-Cola withdraws one of its new launches: there will be a new flavor by 2025

Only six months after a launch full of expectations, Coca-cola has decided to put an end to its most recent experiment: Spicy Coca-Colaa drink that, far from being a success among young people, has generated confusion and disappointment.

Despite a strong advertising campaign, the new flavor has not managed to capture the attention of the public or the sales necessary to consolidate itself in the market.

The confusion behind the flavor

The failure of Coca-Cola Picante does not seem to be due only to the taste, which in reality had raspberry notesbut also to poor communication. According to reports from TyposThesmany consumers were confused by the name, expecting a more intense and spicy flavor that never arrived.

This lack of alignment between expectation and reality of the product resulted in its prompt disappearance from supermarket shelves.

A failed bet to attract young people

Coca-Cola designed this product with the aim of attracting younger consumers, who, according to market studies, are looking for innovative flavors and intense. However, the Spicy Coca-Cola failed to arouse the interest that the multinational expected, unlike other limited flavors such as Dreamworld wave starlightwhich were somewhat more successful.

This failure reflects the growing tendency of consumers to leave aside the sugary and carbonated drinksopting for healthier alternatives such as sparkling waters and drinks focused on hydration.

More products recalled

Spicy Coca-Cola is not the only one saying goodbye. The multinational has also announced the withdrawal of other flavors, such as Coca-Cola cherry-vanilla flavorwhich had been introduced in 2020, and the Splenda flavor light version.

This responds to the adjustment that Coca-Cola is making to its catalog, adapting to the tastes of consumers, who are increasingly moving away from classic sugary drinks.

What can we expect in 2025?

The good news is that Coca-Cola has promised a new flavor by 2025, in the hope that this time it will manage to conquer the market. Although the company says it will be an “exciting” launch, it remains to be seen if this new flavor will remain a lasting option or if it will follow the same path as the failed Coca-Cola Picante.
