In conjunction with the technology giant Samsung, the telecommunications provider Clear celebrated this Tuesday the arrival in Puerto Rico of the new Galaxy S26 series of smartphones.
“Samsung has always bet on Claro as a strategic partner“, stated Enrique Ortiz de Montellano, president of Claro, in an aside with The New Day during the launch held in a hotel in the capital. “We bet on what the client wants, and technology and innovation are what people are looking for.”
Composed of the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra models, the new Galaxy line bet on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) most agile, deep and useful to date, said Gabriela Sanabria, Samsung account manager for Claro.
Sanabria contextualized that the South Korean company has integrated AI since the S24 series. For this reason, he explained that Galaxy S26 is already the “third generation” with Galaxy AI and the first to be assisted by AI multi-agents, which so far include Samsung’s Bixby, Google’s Gemini and Perplexity.
In turn, he stressed that Samsung innovates on this occasion with the Privacy Display, that allows you to hide the content on the screen from other people’s eyes and even be programmed to activate only when notifications from certain applications appear.
With this, even when interacting with the phone, other people will not be able to see from their angles the notifications that the user wants to keep private, such as those linked to their banking or investment applications.
“We are the first in the world to bring this technology”, Sanabria pointed out about Privacy Display, available only in the Ultra model.
In turn, Ortiz de Montellano indicated that this model, which stands out for having a larger screen, the chip more powerful and more lens options in its camera system, “it is the best seller in Claro.”
“People want bigger screens,” the executive said.
Ortiz de Montellano confirmed that since the global launch of the S26 on February 25, Claro has registered solid interest in moving to the new series, which hits stores this Wednesday. He attributed the immediate reception to the fact that, among Android users, it is known that “Samsung is very innovative.”
More about the new equipment
The presentation of the models was led by Francisco “Hambo” López, who demonstrated the effectiveness of the Privacy Display, as well as the new “Super Steady” tool, which takes video stabilization to another level.
Now, by activating this mode, the horizon is set to such a point that, Even if the user completely rotates the device while recording, the video remains stable as if he hadn’t done it. But this option does not suppress creative shots, because it can be disabled.
When elaborating on the ecosystem of tools that Samsung offers within the devices, Hambo highlighted Creative Studio, which allows you to generate cartoons in 3D format by simply describing what you want.
He also demonstrated how, with generative AI, the Galaxy line allows you to adjust photos to the limit of the user’s imagination. You can change backgrounds, add or delete objects, and even put different clothes on people in an image.
“You don’t have to download additional applications. With Samsung Galaxy AI we continue to innovate within the same ecosystem,” he added..
Regarding privacy considerations, Hambo pointed out that the user can choose to have their AI activities carried out internally and tell the system not to collect information on the Internet or take it outside the device, if they wish.
As standard in previous Galaxy lines, the S26 features Samsung’s multi-layer security platform, Knox, which allows user information to be internally shielded.
Regarding Samsung’s motivations for scaling its integration with AI, Hambo assured that it was a decision driven by user preferences.
According to information provided by the company, for the previous S25 series, “90% were already using AI on the phone”; 69% used this technology to overcome language barriers, with tools such as instant transcription or translation of what is captured on the screen; and 63% used it to fix their photos.
