An American visits the Basque Country and ends up completely amazed: “They infect you with enthusiasm”

TO Nick You must be loving Spain. Something that is becoming very common in society and among those who emigrate to another country is create a profile on social networks dedicated exclusively to publishing content about how the experience is going. This American is an obvious example of this since, on the TikTok platform, he has created @spainwithnick.

Every day he shares with his 22 thousand followers something that has to do with our country. The latest cases have been: ‘The Spanish love eggs; the word in Spanish that cannot be translated, a video communicating in Catalan; or the trick that grandmothers use for soups. It is also worth highlighting the day when he was left speechless when he saw that all the apartments in Catalonia had a balcony, something he described as “a luxury”.

“Euskadi, I love you!”

However, the issue that concerns us now is the one in which has focused the focus on the Basque Countryan autonomous community that he visited a little over a month ago. Nick went to Álava, right in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, and must have felt like angels theresince in the description of his testimony he has expressed the following praise: “Euskadi, I love you!”.

This was his first time in Basque territory, as he stated right at the beginning of the video. “I am here in Vitoria-Gasteiz and I love this city”he says while taking a walk down a narrow street. He said this after less than a day had passed, so he must have been given everything luxury to offer such an early sentence.

In less than 24 hours he was able to forge friendships

This American has been lucky. In less than 24 hours “I already made friends” and it was they who taught him Basque culture a little more in depth. He met a waiter who taught him some of the most notable phrases and expressions in Basque in the city.

The next morning (the day he was recording the video), he met the owner of a bar who “he invited me to breakfast”; That’s luck. While he was enjoying that breakfast, they were both talking about “the history of this area” and he mentioned to the owner that he previously went to the lantern house museum “and a worker there gave me a private tour”.

“If you want to come to the Basque Country, don’t miss Vitoria-Gasteiz”

The way this guide spoke to him hypnotized him. “He talked to me about things about the city and his enthusiasm infected me”he points out. Leaving aside the friendships he forged, he names other aspects related to the atmosphere of the streets. It mentions the streets, which “they are very green”or the murals and the pintxos, culinary art par excellence in this community. Finally, his testimony concludes with a blunt “if you want to come to the Basque Country, don’t miss Vitoria-Gasteiz.”
