The Kings visit on Wednesday some of the areas most devastated by forest fires in the Sanabria region (Zamora) and Las Médulas (León), places of great natural and cultural value. The flames have razed thousands of hectares, including such unique places as the environment of the largest glacier origin in Spain and the natural and cultural space of the medulla, World Heritage.
Despite extinction efforts, the situation remains worrying in Castilla y León, where 23 locations in Zamora y León remain evicted. Although some spotlights show a positive evolution, Meteorology has made it difficult to control the flames in Anllares, Porto and the Tera.
In Asturias, a fire in Ibias has forced the eviction of six villageswith indications that it could be caused. In Galicia, with about 96,000 hectares burned, the attention is put in the fire of A Pobra do Bollón, while Ourense improves and Lugo records new fires.
