This morning Canal Sur has resolved the mystery of bullfighting lovers by announcing live and open coverage of the three celebrations of the Malaga Fair. Among the participants, it was surprising the participation of Morante de la Puebla in the shortlist that will inaugurate the summer programming, next Thursday, August 20 at 7:00 p.m., along with Diego Urdiales and Saúl Jiménez Fortes.
Before the expected date, the bullfighter, known as ‘El Genio de la Puebla’ will participate in the traditional Corrida de Candilesin Marbella, this coming August 7th starting at 10:00 p.m. Demonstrating that, despite having suffered a serious goring on April 20, the matador has managed to recover and return to the ring, being one of the most acclaimed figures by bullfighting.
Such is his passion for the world of bullfighting that even in his refuge, a farm known as the Huerta de San Antonio, in La Puebla del Río (Seville), wanted to pay tribute to bullfighting and Andalusian architecture and tradition. A sanctuary that the right-handed wanted to share with his loyal fansallowing both celebrations and visits to be held there.
Its interior hides a museum dedicated to the bullfighter’s career
The farm, of approximately 2.5 hectaresis located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River and has become one of the most visited places in the Sevillian municipality. Its design, which combines the style of old Andalusian farmhouses with that of a medieval fortressis characterized by the presence of architectural and decorative elements typical of the Andalusian tradition.
Its walls, covered in white lime, and the presence of stately towers and battlements are reminiscent of the structure of a bullring. However, the bullfighting touches do not end there, since the farm acts as a museum of Morante de la Puebla’s careerkeeping objects related to the bullfighting tradition, such as fair posters, light suitscapes and stuffed bull heads.
Although this space is not only an ode to bullfighting, but also to the Andalusian tradition, finding decorative elements such as religious tiles, clay pots with flowerswindows with grilles, decorative tableware and other ceramic and pottery elements typical of the area. All of this located in a space marked by the presence of large patios, windows and semicircular arches.
The farm has a celebration hall and a space for animal husbandry.
In addition to being their place of rest during the break in the bullfighting season, this space houses a livestock area for resting and raising animalsas well as a plaza where you can practice bullfighting and a soccer field enabled for local residents. Visitors will also be able to take cart rides or activities related to the world of bullfighting.
For those fans who wish to celebrate a special day at this farm, they can do so at your celebration roomaccording to the La Puebla del Río City Council. Likewise, due to its beauty and location, this enclave has become a passing area of the brotherhoods during Rocío week.
All this makes the Huerta de San Antonio not only a private residence where Morante de la Puebla can rest, but also in a kind of sanctuary to bullfighting and Andalusian tradition.
