With the purpose of connecting, making visible and strengthening the spaces dedicated to education and public participation in science and technology in the country, Science Puerto Rico (CienciaPR) and the Trust for Science, Technology and Research announce this Wednesday the official launch of the Network of Museums and Science and Technology Centers of Puerto Rico (ReCiTe PR).
ReCiTe PR emerges as a collaborative platform that seeks to make visible and promote the resources, programs and events of museums and science and technology centers, facilitate strategic alliances, strengthen capacities, the exchange of good practices and promote scientific and cultural tourism through equitable access to learning experiences in science and technology for people of all ages in Puerto Rico.
The initiative was presented after a dialogue process between co-founding organizations committed to education and public participation in science and technology, and who laid the foundations for a common agenda.

For its part, Lucy Crespochief executive officer of the Trust, highlighted the importance of strengthening this ecosystem: “Museums and science centers are engines of inspiration, discovery and economic development based on knowledge. We are honored to support a network that will advance collaboration between institutions and expand our communities’ access to transformative educational experiences in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).
During the official launch, representatives of the co-founding organizations participated: Para la Naturaleza, EcoExploratorio: Museo de Ciencias de Puerto Rico, Centro Criollo de Ciencia y Tecnología del Caribe (C3Tec), Parque de las Ciencias by Toro Verde, Museo de Historia Natural de Puerto Rico, Casa Pueblo de Adjuntas, the Museum of Zoology and the Herbarium of the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras, Arecibo C3 and the laboratories of the Trust for Science, Technology and Research programs.
Invitation to join
ReCiTe PR called on science, technology, nature or natural history museums, community centers with scientific-based programs, ecotourism parks with educational components, botanical gardens and arboretums, research centers with educational offerings to students and the general public, and mobile educational programs with community impact. to join this initiative.
Also, companies, private foundations and government agencies or programs were invited to be supporting members.
