The storms, which have already accompanied us during the last few days, will continue on the peninsula throughout the week due to the arrival of several DANAsas well as the passage of small waves or troughs. This episode of instability will affect almost the entire Spanish geography, with rains that could be locally intense and persistentwith Wednesday being the day with the most storm activity, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
Despite the rainfall, temperatures will remain at high values for the time of year in some areas of the country. In the northern half they will reach maximums between 28 and 30 degreess, while in the rest of the territory the temperatures will be more typical of the end of April.
Tuesday with warnings in nine communities
This Tuesday, atmospheric instability increases, with very cloudy skies and precipitation in large areas of the territory. Nine communities are in yellow alert for strong storms, accompanied by hail and very strong gusts of wind, as well as rain that could accumulate between 15 and 20 liters per square meter in one hour.
The notices will be active between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.. Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Basque Country, La Rioja, Castilla y León, Extremadura, Castilla-La Mancha and part of Andalusia They are among the most affected areas, with the risk of intense storms, hail and strong wind.
Wednesday will be the most unstable day
Wednesday will be the most complicated day of the week. They are expected very cloudy skies and practically widespread showersexcept on the Mediterranean coast and the Balearic Islands, where they will be less likely. The rains may be locally heavy and accompanied by storms, hail and intense gusts of wind.
Furthermore, there will be a notable drop in temperatures in much of the country. Cities like Valladolid or Madrid will have a maximum of around 20 degrees, Seville or Bilbao will reach 25 degrees. For its part, Palma will reach 26 degrees, and in Lleida or Murcia they will be around 28 degrees.
Thursday with slight truce
On Thursday the instability will continue, although in a more irregular way. During the morning, a relative truce will open, but Storms will form again in the afternoonespecially in the east of the peninsula and mountainous areas such as the Pyrenees or the Iberian System. Temperatures will tend to recover slightly.
Weekend of more showers and contained heat
From Friday May 1 and during the weekend, Instability will persist, with a greater probability of rain in the north and east of the peninsula. These precipitations may be locally intense and accompanied by storms. As for temperatures, they will remain high in general, with values close to 28-30 degrees in the Ebro and Guadalquivir valleys, and more than 25 degrees in much of the southern half.
