The II Water Forum asks for cooperation and innovation as keys to the future of water

He II Water Forum celebrated by The reason He has gathered outstanding institutional experts and responsibles under the motto “Challenges, management and sustainability”addressing the main concerns of the present and future around water resources. The meeting has served as a space for dialogue on the challenges imposed by climate change and the need for a more efficient and solidarity water management model.

The day began with the Opening by José LuGoDelegate of La Razón in Andalusia, who highlighted the importance of raising awareness and generating concrete proposals from the public and private sector to guarantee access to water as essential.

Next, Rocío Ruizdelegate of La Razón in Madrid, interviewed Mariano GonzálezCEO of Isabel II channelwho stressed the need to bet on innovation, investment in networks and water reuse, such as pillars to face water stress and ensure sustainable supply.

The first debate table, entitled “Hydraulic infrastructure, the key to management in a climate change scenario”was moderated by José Lugo and was attended by Pulido Simon (Veolia Spain), Álvaro Real (Junta de Andalucía) and José Claramonte (FACSA). The speakers agreed on the urgent need to modernize infrastructure and take advantage of European funds to strengthen the resilience of the water system.

The second table, focused on “Water, present and future solidarity of the transfers”was moderated by Alicia MartíEditorial Delegate of La Razón in the Valencian Community and Region of Murcia. They intervened José Sandoval (Murcia government), Sabina Goretti (Generalitat Valenciana) and José Carlos Gil (AGANOVA), who discussed the need for national, fair and supportive hydrological planning, which guarantees the territorial balance and sustainability of the resource.

The forum concluded with a clear message: only through dialogue, innovation and cooperation between territories it will be possible to build a sustainable water future for all. During the event, the role of new technologies was also valued, such as real -time monitoring or network digitalization, fundamental tools for a more effective and anticipated management of resources. Experts agreed that digital transformation is key to optimizing consumption and reducing losses.

Likewise, the need for greater citizen awareness was highlighted. Beyond the policies and infrastructure, the attendees pointed out that the responsible use of water by the population is essential to face the current and future challenges, in addition to asking the administrations a truthful and effective communication of the reality of water and everything that includes their environment.

The forum evidenced that water, as a strategic resource, must occupy a priority place in the political and social agenda. The institutional coordination, the sustained investment and the commitment of all the actors involved will be decisive to successfully face the challenges of climate change and guarantee water sustainability in Spain.
