WhatsApp has announced the arrival of its official chat to Europe and the United Kingdom, from where it will offer users to protect themselves from cyberbaskets and suggestions to configure the account. The official chat is a unidirectional chat that WhatsApp uses to send occasional messages to users with useful information about the tools, new functions or updates of the application.
It will also be the way to share tips on how to detect suspicious messages and scams, as well as guidance to adjust the privacy settings to add more layers of protection to the courier service account. To recognize it as legitimate, it will be accompanied by a blue badge that demonstrates its veracity.
However, from the technology company they explain that this chat is silenced by default and that the reception of information is optional. The official chat will be implemented during the next weeks and the first users in Europe Y and the United Kingdom will be able to start receiving messages as of Wednesday.
