‘Golden Eagle’ HS, the Israeli drone armed with Spike missiles for precision attacks

The Israeli company Steadicopterspecialized in RUAS (English acronym for Rotating Unmanned Aerial Systemsalso known as multicopters or droncopters) has presented a new model developed jointly with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems: Golden Eagle HS (Heavy Strike)a name that could be translated as Golden Eagle AP (Heavy Attack). This new addition to the RUAS Golden Eagle family integrates the missiles Spike by Raphael.

The Golden Eagle HS is designed to precision strike missions in diverse environmentsfrom tactical conflict zones to border protection, perimeter security and urban operations.

With the integration of Spike missiles, the Golden Eagle HS offers the ability to conduct Fast and precise attacks against high value targets and allows ground forces to operate from safe positions and at a distance, regardless of weather or visibility conditions. The RUAS maximizes firepower, while minimizes risk to infantry, marines, special forces and other ground units.

Spike missiles are known for its precise guidance and ‘fire and forget’ ability. This term refers to advanced guidance technologies that allow the missile to head to its target autonomously after being launched, without the need for intervention by the operator.

The platform can cover large operational areas and extends the tactical reach of assault forces. The tandem configuration allows continuity of mission even in the event that one is neutralized.

With a total takeoff weight of 50 kilograms, the Golden Eagle HS is compatible with the missile Spike SRwith a range of 2.5 kilometers, and the Spike-LR2capable of reaching 5.5 kilometers.

The Golden Eagle HS is also equipped with an advanced set of sensors including a high-definition EO/IR payload for day and night use, as well as target tracking capabilities. Integrated with artificial intelligence technology SightXthe system can seamlessly acquire, track and classify targets, even in adverse weather conditions or complex terrain. This AI can distinguish between various types of targets, whether human or vehicleand provides real-time situational awareness and data for ground forces.

‘The launch of the Golden Eagle HS in collaboration with Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd., a global leader in missile technology, represents an important milestone for Steadicopter,’ he said. Itai TorenCEO of Steadicopter. ‘This RUAS offers a modern tactical solution that meets current operational demands, with exceptional precision and ranged attack capabilities, while protecting troops. Combining Steadicopter’s RUAS expertise with Rafael’s extensive defense experience creates a solution that improves effectiveness on the battlefield.’
