The amazing spectacle with more than 10,000 drones in the sky that has broken 2 Guinness records

Fireworks shows have been losing favor in recent years compared to those made with drones. Chinawhere the company comes from DJI which controls 90% of the consumer drone market, is the best exponent and has demonstrated it again with an impressive spectacle that has broken several records Guinness.

It took place last Thursday in the city of Shenzhenin southern China. A few weeks ago another show took place there with more than 8,000 drones flying in a coordinated mannerbut last Thursday’s one far surpassed it: more than 10,000 UAVs They drew a wide variety of colorful figures in the sky over the city’s northwest bay.

The event, called ‘City in the Sky, Great Possibility’, took place as part of the celebrations leading up to the Chinese National Day which takes place this October 1st. The impressive light show can be seen in the following video from the state agency CCTV.

According to the organizers, the drone exhibition has broken two Guinness records. The first, that of having the largest number of drones controlled simultaneously by a single computer. The second, being the event in which the largest number of drones has participated.

During the show, the 10,197 The drones used formed figures such as spirals, clouds, birds and other animals, also mythological, human, different types of flying ships and cities, among others.

The exhibition also incorporated elements of Shenzhen’s cultural heritage, blending innovation with tradition. Iconic monuments of the city were displayed, along with scenes inspired by martial arts Wing Chun that represent the history of the city.

Finally, the show ended with a recreation of the classic fireworks using drones, some ‘cyber fireworks’. Despite the brilliance of the show, it is possible that the characteristic sound they make when they explode was missed here. Curiously, China is also the country where fireworks were invented about 1,200 years ago..

Shenzhen will continue repeating the show every night until next October 7when the celebrations of the 75th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China end.
