The arrival of a trough coming from the Atlantic has put an end to the recent heat wave in Spain by favoring the arrival of a cooler air mass. On the Peninsula, heat warnings are concentrated in the Malaga region of Sol and Guadalhorce, La Mancha in Albacete and the Serranía de Cuenca, the Ribera del Ebro in Zaragoza, the central depression of Lleida and the Ampurdán, in Girona. In the Balearic Islands, the interior of Mallorca remains under a yellow warning due to temperatures that will reach 36 degrees.

Looking ahead to Thursday, eltiempo.es indicates that the trough could intensify over the northeast of the peninsula, favoring stronger storms in Aragon, the north of the Valencian Community and, especially, Catalonia. In addition, temperatures will begin to drop more generally, especially in the north, a trend that will spread to the rest of the country heading into the weekend.
