Hong Kong – The youngest celebrities of Hong Kong, a pair of six -month panda puppies, met Sunday with their fans in their first public appearance.
The twins, born on August 15, are the first giant panda puppies born in Hong Kong. They live in the Ocean Park theme park along with their parents and two other giant pandas that arrived from continental China last year.
A multitude of visitors crowded Sunday in the theme park to glimpse the pandas within their enclosure. The pandas climbed through a tree trunk or slept in a swing before the gaze of their caregivers.
The park offered a wide selection of memories with pandas.
Puppies still have no names, and for the moment they are known as “older sister” and “younger brother.” On Saturday a public tender opened to give them a name after an event attended by Hong Kong’s head of government, John Lee, and other officials. Residents can send their name suggestions through the park’s website.
The twins can receive visitors for five hours a day. Those who wish to enjoy time with puppies outside the regular visits, before the Park Abra, can pay 1,500 dollars from Hong Kong (around 190 dollars).
With the birth of the puppies, Hong Kong now has the largest number of captivity pandas outside the continental China. Their names will be announced in the first half of the year.
