This is what we expect from the iPhone 16… although we probably won’t see it

For many Apple lovers the day has finally arrived and, despite the fanaticism it arouses among its devotees, the reality is that in many sections of its specifications, the iPhoneare late not only compared to its direct competition (read Samsung) but also to mid-range devices. It is therefore not surprising that the iPhone 16 is expected tocatch up in these areasespecially considering its price.

While it is true that, for social networks and photography, they are among those that offer the best options, there are sections in which they have not changed much. One of them is the RAM memorywhich is responsible for managing the programs active at that time. Currently, OnePlus, Asus ZTE, Xiaomi, Realme or Nothing (to name a few) have a minimum RAM of 16 GB. iPhone, for its part, remains stable in 2016 when the Vivo Xplay 5 went on sale: the iPhone 15 has 6 GB of memory. Very little for a mobile phone costing over a thousand euros.

Section number 2: screen ratio. At least 7 manufacturers (Motorola, Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Honor, OnePlus…) They have a screen ratio of over 90%. iPhones aren’t even in the top 20 on this list, at 89%. And when it comes to screens, the refresh rate (how many times it updates per second, which is essential for video games, for example) is another issue. iPhones have a 60Hz refresh rate (they update 60 times per second), something that was already surpassed in 2017 and now most have double that. Fingers crossed that something changes.

One of the most controversial topics of Apple phones is the battery. The latest models have batteries ranging from 3877 mAh to 4912. The capacity that the Samsung S22 had… two years ago. Today, The standard for most high-end mobiles is around 5000 mAh and that should be Apple’s goal.

Finally, there is the load and here we have to be very direct: 20W is not enough for the current use of mobile phonesAn iPhone 15 takes about 90 minutes to charge, an S24 30 minutes less, a Xiaomi 14 completes its battery in just over 30 minutes, a figure similar to the latest Huawei models. Hopefully we will see some of these changes, not all of them, so we shouldn’t overdo it, but it wouldn’t be bad if we did have some.
