The Spanish manufacturer Indra has chosen the Feindef scenario, the defense fair that will be held in IFEMA, to present One of the most advanced systems with the aim of covering the needs of the Armed Forces before the complex scenarios and defense operations that are emerging.
It’s about Valero, a weapons system based on a new modular and multipurpose air vehiclewhich has been designed to fly in different modalities and carrying different types of useful loads depending on the mission to be met. Because we are still waiting for the official presentation, there are still many unknowns about their specifications. But this is what we know.
In addition to the Light Multipurpose Air Vehicle (VAM), the Valero weapons system is completed with a configurable surface launcher (LSC), a land planning and control segment (EPC) and the associated support equipment. This allows it to be configured with different useful loads depending on the mission, the launch zone (air or earth) and If you will have a “Kamikaze profile”, which will seek to recover or if, on the contrary, if your recovery will be pursued. The low production costs allow both options.

To this we must add characteristics such as the possibility of working as a team with other similar drones, at the same time reducing the level of risk to which crews and valuable platforms face.
The Valero project began in 2023 and its objective “is to trace the national industrial fabric throughout the national territory. For this, we are collaborating with different companies in the sector, we are capturing talent, dotting ourselves from industrial capacities and supporting ourselves in universities and specialized centers. With Valero we contribute to strengthening our industryto create quality employment and consolidate industrial corridors that can undertake the new challenges of the sector and help us define the future of defense, “says Manuel Rodríguez Cerezo, director of weapons and ammunition of Indra in a statement.
