The Civil Guard does not lose sight of the economic mechanisms created by the Villafuel company in the hydrocarbon plot. One of the agents’ objectives is to clarify the money flows between Victor de Aldama and their considered front men. Two names stand out strongly: Luis Alberto Escolano and the businessman’s ex-wife to whom he donated almost a million euros in three years.
In the media “Koldo case” that instructs the Supreme Court Aldama’s role has lost prominence due to the latest reports from the Civil Guard that point to Santos Cerdán, José Luis Ábalos and Koldo García. However, the figure of the businessman hovers at the epicenter of the hydrocarbon plot where it is suspected that he was one of the “ringleaders” along with Claudio Rivas.
It is in this procedure, which Judge Santiago Pedraz commands in the National Court, is where the agents try to delve into the movements of Aldama and his environment. The first name in importance is that of Luis Alberto Escolano. This businessman from Bilbao was arrested in this operation that investigates the alleged fraud of 182 million euros in the payment of VAT.
He is considered the businessman’s most trusted person and the custodian of his secrets. He is a partner in many of their businesses and his name came to light for paying the rent for the luxury apartment in Jesica Rodríguez, the ex-partner of José Luis Ábalosin Plaza de España.
The agents suspect that this man is Aldama’s front man and that he keeps a portion of his profits. Both in our country and abroad. That is why one of the main points of interest are the movements of Escolano, who continues to be investigated in the fuel case.
It is worth remembering that a month ago, in a statement on a television program, Aldama responded to the question of how he lived if all his accounts were seized. “They lend me moneythey help me, thanks to that I keep going,” he admitted.
Aldama’s ex-wife
Other people in the businessman’s environment who are of interest to the investigation are Patricia Ramos. This woman, who was his wife for several years, “has been receiving funds through donations made in a personal capacity,” according to one of the reports from the Civil Guard that were sent to Magistrate Pedraz.
Ramos was the recipient of 955,000 euros which were donated by her ex-husband between May 2020 and December 2023. All of these transfers were made before a notary. The origin of money is one of the mysteries that the UCO tries to reveal.
One of the most suspicious movements were the last donations that occurred a few months before Aldama’s arrest. One of them was on November 27, 2023 for 50,000 euros and the last one on December 21, 225,000 euros. On February 24, 2024, the businessman was arrested for the first time in the context of the mask operation.
Patricia Ramos was administrator since October 2017 of Martina 2017 Real Estate. A company that bought a house worth two million euros from the Portuguese company Atmosferaudaz, linked to Aldama. In the same way, it is investigated whether there was any change during this time in the property deeds of the businessman’s properties. These movements are one of the focuses of the investigation into the fuel plot.
The Corvillo brothers
Another name that is on the agents’ radar, although they have not yet been charged in the case, is that of the Corvillo brothers. One of them was even cited in the Senate Investigative Committee of the “Koldo case”. Cristian Corvillo, who was once Pedro Sánchez’s driver, decided to remain silent.
Santos Cerdán himself came to criticize his movements, according to the Civil Guard report. “We have a lot at stake in Andalusia and Cristian is screwing up in Córdoba,” the former socialist leader conveyed to Koldo Garcia in a WhatsApp message.
“I know you are Cristian’s friend, but make no mistake, be careful what you say about me“, he continued. “I don’t believe he’s messing with you, I told him a thousand times what you were to me… It’s a good thing to be grateful and don’t forget that I have everything paid for thanks to you,” Koldo responded to the former Navarrese deputy.
