The month of October starts with more rain in the north and a general rise in temperatures. Galicia, Asturias, the Basque Country and Navarra are on yellow alert for rain of up to 15 liters per square meter. In the middle of the week, the arrival of a very humid air massof tropical originwhich will cause a significant rainfall event.
This Tuesday Galicia has activated the yellow alert until noon due to the forecast of intense rains that could accumulate up to 15 liters per square meter. This situation will also affect Asturias, Navarra and the Basque Country, where they will remain under warning during the last hours of the day. The passage of Atlantic fronts over the peninsula and the Balearic Islands will leave overcast skies and rain, mainly in Galicia. These precipitations will extend towards the Cantabrian area, the north of Castilla y León, the upper Ebro and the north of the Iberian system, according to the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
In Galicia, the provinces of A Coruña and Pontevedra are on yellow alert due to the amount of rain expected. Asturias will go on alert from 6 p.m.with similar accumulations on the coast and in the mountain range, including the Picos de Europa. In Navarra and the interior of Guipúzcoa, the rain alert will be activated at 8 p.m.also with forecasts of up to 15 liters per square meter.
Maximum temperatures will tend to decrease on the Atlantic slope and the northeast, while they will increase in the southeast, Ampurdán, Cantabrian coasts and the Canary Islands. The provincial capitals that will register the highest values will be Murcia with 33ºC; Badajoz, Córdoba, Granada and Seville with 32ºC; and Albacete, Huelva and Jaén with 31ºC.
