It had been warning it for a while and the State Meteorology Agency (AEMET) maintains its prognosis for this weekend that has just begun. It will be the worst of the heat wave, since it began at the beginning of the month.
Although now it seems that the wave will dissipate next Monday, the final traca will drown several points of the country with temperatures that will exceed and by far the 40 degrees Celsius. Even in the Cantabrian area, where temperatures are usually softer, mercury will be seen between 36 and 39 degrees Celsius.
The Aemet expects to see maxims of up to 42ºC in “large areas of the southern peninsular half and in the depressions of the Ebro and the Duero”, but without ruling out that “in the valleys of the Guadiana, Guadalquivir and Segura you can reach the 44ºC”.

In short, the 35 degrees will be exceeded in most of the Peninsula, except the coastlines, mountain areas and the north end, as well as in areas of Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. Of course, a light decrease in the minimum is also expected in the peninsular western half and a light ascent in the eastern half and in the islands.
They will not drop from 20 in the southern peninsular half, except mountains, on the northern plateau and depressions of the northeast, being probable to exceed 25 in the Mediterranean, depressions of the southern Atlantic aspect and is not discarded locally in the depressions of the northeast.

The Aemet maintains a yellow warm notice in Galicia, and orange notices in Aragon, Illes Ballears, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Extremadura, Community of Madrid, Region of Murcia, Navarra, Basque Country, La Rioja and Community Valencian.
These notices will be active at the beginning between 12:00 and 8:00 p.m.
There is also a red meteorological notice – extreme risk – in Andalusia, specifically between 1:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
