Why Siri AI is not coming to Europe
Apple notes that bringing Siri AI to the EU would force the company to grant other AI assistants, such as ChatGPT, Claude and Geminian access ‘almost unlimited’ to private user data and the ability to control installed applications. As a solution, Apple proposed an intermediary system called Trusted System Agent. This system would allow other virtual assistants access the same functions as Siri AI in a more secure way. However, the European Commission rejected Apple’s proposal.
