Spanish flags everywhere and more than a third of the population in the street have received the Kings because, as a neighbor said, “better late than never.”
They have been received by President Vivas, the same politician who welcomed the parents of Felipe VI in this same square almost 20 years ago. After the usual greeting to the authorities, they received the keys to the city and held a working meeting with representatives of Ceuta society and members of the Ceuta government council.
The Kings have taken the opportunity, according to Zarzuela, “to convey the support of the Crown to the institutions of Ceuta and to Ceuta society, as well as the affection of the rest of Spain” to the people gathered in the vicinity of the Plaza de África, where the Town Hall is located.
