The model, businesswoman and activist Sofía Jirau recently announced the launch of the “For them” campaign, a digital initiative designed to support parents and caregivers of children with Down syndrome.
The campaign aims to facilitate access to key information and essential tools through a platform promoted by artificial intelligence.
From the page Sofiajirau.comSofia has gathered experts to develop a Chatbot Interactive, capable of answering in real time questions about programs, services and key issues related to inclusion, education and accessibility.
“If you have a child with Down syndrome, don’t be afraid. I know you have many questions, but little by little we will find the answers,” Sofía Jirau said in written statements, within the framework of the commemoration of World Down Syndrome Day.
As reported, the digital platform represents the first phase of an innovative project, developed by the brothers José Armando Ortiz and José Alejandro Ortizfounders of 2040 LLC, a Puerto Rican company specialized in artificial intelligence solutions.
“Together with Sofia, we are creating a platform based on artificial intelligence to connect mothers and fathers with the precise information and the support they need from the first day of the diagnosis of their children”explained José Alejandro Ortiz.
“This Chatbot It will answer doubts based on medical and educational resources, in addition to providing access to support groups and key contacts available on the Internet. We want no family to feel alone when you receive the diagnosis of your child, ”added José Armando Ortiz.
The journalist also joined this initiative José Carlos Sánchezwho has led the curatorship and validation of the information that will nurture the platform.
“Children’s families with Down syndrome deserve clear answers, support and hope from the first moment. Technology, especially artificial intelligence, can be a great ally to achieve it,” said Sánchez Cintrón.
In this beta version it is pointed out that users can interact with the Chatbot and complete a form that will identify the main needs of the community, helping to optimize the chatbot database and expand the resources available on the platform.
The “for them” campaign is open to all people who wish to contribute to the future of all children with Down syndrome on the island. To the same, the photographer also joined Laurie Liz Vázquezthrough a photo shoot he called “UP” where he led to Sofia’s encounter with dozens of children with the trisomy in chromosome 21.
“I want all children with Down syndrome to have a future full of opportunities and without limitations and I love being able to meet them closely,” said Jirau.
